) But the animal control laws are being rewritten right now so it may change soon (hopefully to allow more animals than 4). I don't think it's fair for a city/county to put a limit on a number of animals you can have as long as they are being cared for properly. It's like putting a limit on the number of kids people can have. How many animals a person has should be their own choice. I personally don't give a crap what the city says..I'll have as many pets as I want and luckily they aren't strict about enforcing their law. Right now I have two cats and a dog and my roommate has a cat (and I've been taking care of my parents yorkie for 6 weeks). But I know people that live in city limits and have way more than 4 pets combined LOL...they haven't had any problems with the city so far

Purchasing from backyard breeders, pet shops, and puppymills perpetuates the suffering of other dogs.
Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
