In my city, the law is no more than 4 dogs/cats/ferrets/potbellied pigs combined per household(LOL..potbellied pigs ) But the animal control laws are being rewritten right now so it may change soon (hopefully to allow more animals than 4). I don't think it's fair for a city/county to put a limit on a number of animals you can have as long as they are being cared for properly. It's like putting a limit on the number of kids people can have. How many animals a person has should be their own choice. I personally don't give a crap what the city says..I'll have as many pets as I want and luckily they aren't strict about enforcing their law. Right now I have two cats and a dog and my roommate has a cat (and I've been taking care of my parents yorkie for 6 weeks). But I know people that live in city limits and have way more than 4 pets combined LOL...they haven't had any problems with the city so far
