I have been reading all the good ideas about re-training and i am trying all of them. Lucy was 1 in Aug. I trained her to a potty tray with pads (rectangular plastic tray used to hold plants, cheap at hardware store fyi).
she has 2 trays in the house, one in laundry room and one in bathroom that she has used 99% of the time since she was 6months old. Now though, she has decided to use the wall to wall carpet in the entry hall. I finally placed a tray there too which she used most of thetime but still continues to use the carpet from time to time. I tried moving the tray and blocking the area off to retrain her to her orginal trays. Now she goes to the blocked off area and goes right in front of it on the carpet of course, unless I catch her in enough time to get her to a tray. She still continues to uses her trays as well. I am now resorting to the re-training method of treats when she uses her trays. I don't know if she is stubborn or confused????? I am frustrated!
