Glad, she is at peace and you have been the best sister Ren could have through all of this. My prayers are for you and your family now. Hugs, Joan |
And I just now saw this myself as well!

Forgive me, I have been a bit out of the loop for the past week...
Thank you all so very much for your prayers and postive thoughts. I sure wish I could have made it there for my sis before she left us, but I said goodbye to her last month when I was in Vermont, as I had no idea when I would be able to come up again.
For all of you people who have said to me, "I wish there is something I could do for you, " there is! PLEASE get regular PAP tests!

Cervical cancer can be cured if you can catch it fast enough. The other bit of advice I have from the experience with my sis is try radiation and chemo before going under the knife. Use surgery as a last resort.
Renee was a wonderful person. Only 41 years old, she was my youngest sibling. Gorgeous singing voice, sweet personality, always smiling, always loving. She raised three beautiful children who were the light of her life, and was devasted when she lost her youngest son in a drowning accident on the last day of classes at Paul Smith College in New York in May this year.
Ren was first diagnosed with cancer in May of 2006, had a radical hysterectomy and no further treatment. Her doc said she didn't need it. WRONG!

The cancer returned with a vengence. She had surgery to remove 8 tumors on August 13th, and never really recovered from that surgery enough for any further treatment.

I hate the fact that there is no cure for cancer. Why why why can we spend billions of dollars on war, but cancer gets limited research funds?
For the past 4 years I have worked as a volunteer for many organizations, and was recently voted as the board chair for our local Habitat for Humanity. As soon as my term cycles out, I am switching my energies to volunteering for some type of cancer organization. It's the least I can do.
For anyone else who has been touched by this dread disease, I urge you to give what you can to cancer research, no matter what type you choose. If we can cure any kind of cancer, it may make it easier to find cures for all. Please help.
Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers. YT is a wonderful community, and with this many members, there is a lot of power here. Together, we can make changes in this world!
