maybe you could include him maybe he likes spending time with your mom too,my husband was like that also then he finally told me he enjoys being around my mother also ,he was always doing things for here cause she was always sick and i had to take her grocery shopping and to doctors appt.he was always there with me .to help her out when she needed it .
