I think bathing depends on the dog. Just like humans. Some humans wash their hair every day, others every few days etc. There's no rhyme or reason to it.

Both my girls drink a lot of water. Isn't excessive water drinking a possible sign of diabetes? (I know humans is, not sure about dogs)

I would take her to the vet, just to be safe.
