Are you filling the "tub" or using a sprayer?

I don't give "baths" it's more comparable to a shower.

Put furbaby in the kitchen sink with a non-skid rubber mat and use the sprayer. I also use the other side for a pot of warm water that I "pre-warm" the shampoo & conditioner in.

If you want a great sprayer system so you don't have to keep manually turning off the water (it's a bugger to find the right temperature again), go to home depot and get a "toggle" adapter.
