Congrats on making Toby legal in your apartment! Hercules isn't legal in ours, and I have no plans on making him legal. I'm sure that sounds bad, but it's such a rip off to have to pay a deposit and then a monthly fee on top of that. I'm not doing it, unless we get caught. Then I'll claim we just got him.
Another reason I don't want to pay the pet deposit and fee is because the policy in my apartment complex is that they replace the carpet every two years, no matter what - if there are pets in the apartment or not. And they replace the carpet every year if there are pets. This is assuming renters stay only a year I guess. Well our carpet was not new when we moved in. So that means that they will be replacing the carpet no matter what when we move. Therefore, why should I pay more to them when they are going to replace the carpet anyway?? I'm already paying way too much for an apartment anyway. Apartment living stinks!!
