Ok... lets see, you have a 10 year old, and a 5 week old. It's very normal for the older baby to be distant from the little one over the next weeks, or even months. Some take longer to adjust to a new addition than others. My suggestion is, give them both the same amount of attention, cuddles, and kisses. You can, while the baby is taking naps, give sherlock some "alone" time with you, to reassure her, that she IS your number one, and you still love her as much as you always have.
Ive never given the older dog a treat first, i give it to them randomly, and ive never had jealousy issues, but i always make sure, they get the same amount of "mommy" time, cuddles, and kisses.
