Default Breeding

Kelly, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of a new puppy. I bred my little 2 yr. old Foxy last year. I had never bred before and only did it for a friend so she could have one of her little male's baby. Well, Foxy ended up having 6 puppies!!!! She delivered with no problem and the puppies were fine. After about 2 days, Foxy became sick and I had to tube feed them around the clock. I lost one female puppy at 2 wks and that was a heartbreaker!! After all that work trying to keep them all alive and to lose one was almost to much to take. Foxy never did get better. Took her to Mich. State and they said that 6 puppies was to big of a litter for her and it ruined her liver.
I lost her in Sept. after tons of trips to vets and exploritory surgery. I will never breed again. So don't blame yourself for things that you don't expect to happen. Sometimes, no matter how things are handled, they turn out with unfavorable results. Just be glad for the puppy you have and that Mama is doing fine.
