Well I've tried the south beach diet a few times to lose a quick 10 lbs and I'd definitely suggest it but to keep the results you have to stick with it. I never stuck with it and gained all the weight that I lost back. You'll see results fast in the first two weeks since you're body is pretty much in detox ...you can lose up to 15 lbs (can't eat ANY carbs or sugar not even fruit since it has natural sugars). So you lose a lot of lbs in the hips and belly region. It's
really hard and you have to be VERY disciplined the first two weeks (the hardest phase)! Also you have to love eating grilled chicken, salad, and eggs pretty much everyday

If you're planning on doing a quick diet thing I wouldn't do it but if you're looking for a lifestyle change ... go for it the results are def. worth it
