Default Yorkie Owners breeders

Please do not be upset.

Remember the breed standard is a guidline of the perfect yorkshire terrier. The perfect yorkshire terrier- DOES NOT Exist. If a yorkie is over 7 pounds it is called a fault- which means -it does not meet the guidline of the standard of the weight. Nothing more and nothing less. A Yorkie can have a bad bite- undershot or overshot this is a fault also. A Yorkie who has LP has a structure fault. Who is to say which one of those faults are worse. You make the decision. Me, I would rather have a yorkie who is over the weight limit- But that is M/O.

I feel that it is very admirable that you want to have a Yorkie who is a service dog.

When a person contacts me to use one of my males for stud- I try and look at the whole picture. I try and work with the gal's owner to give my thoughts and suggestions. If the female has no worthy qualities- yes I will say that in M/O the bitch should not be breed. I will point out what I do and do not like about my male. Try to give a educated guess on what breeding the two might produce.

You have to make the decision as to why you want to breed and what your intentions are? I have met many a show breeder who has lovely looking dogs but have no personality they are raised in a sterile enviroment- and bred for looks only. I have met the person who breeds because they can- puppies may and may not resemble the breed standard. It is a hard choice.

This is why all of our dogs look different. Just look at all the pictures on this site. Do they all look the same? No? They are all YT's but each one has distinctive differences- size, height, weight, coat color, coat texture, facial expression, length, of nose, height of ears, spacing of ears, movement.

Until I breed the perfect YT and can produce several more- I am going to try and be understanding of others. Nothing is wrong with stating what the breed standard states- but don't go overboard. Fight the major battles that are of importance.
