As far as hurting them by changing from solid dog food to homecooked, it depends in my opinion...Back when I was first homecooking, I would sometimes alternate and Miko would do fine with that....BUT after homecooking for him for a couple of months straight with no dog food whatsoever, I gave him the dry food he used to eat before homecooking for one meal, and he ended up having bloody stools. It was not a pretty picture.
