The hair in the inner ear (that comes from the ear canal) needs to be plucked often. I used to have my vet do it but now I do it myself. It doesnt seem to hurt them. They dont cry or whine, but sometimes its hard to get them to sit still.
Without hair there, it cant trap the water and cause an ear infection.
