im clueless along with u ... i also got that book and i read the part in the book aswell.... the first time i bathed Chicle i put cotton balls in his ears but they eventually popped out so i havent done so lately when i bathe him.
as far as the mineral oil drops for the eyes, ive never done that ...
i would also like to know if these steps should be taken.......
