It isn't MY fault if they can't afford to buy clothes for their kids. They were both pulling out their cigarettes as they were walking out. Maybe they should stop smoking. For the price they paid for a carton of their cigarettes they could have bought an outfit for their kids. I see one of the ladies going into the liquor store all the time. Quit spending money there and buy clothes for your kids.
My DH and I do NOT have a lot of money. In fact this has been the worst year financially for us. Yes I buy clothes for Susanah, but I also pay my bills and make sure my kids have what they need. It isn't my fault they put other things ahead of their children.

Maybe you should make sure your *Friends* over hear you talking about how much they smoke but some can not aford to keep there mouths shut! I think I would have said something to them. I don't like People like that.
