The peeing thing, ya that just takes time. If they are doing it right 80% of the time, I would consider that success. I spanked and raised my voice when there was an inside accident. I got a lot of flak from the board members on here. Regardless, my guy turned out ok, although he still occasionally drops the pee bomb on the floor, and I can always tell because he will start slinking around the house and head to his crate and wait for me to find it. I don't spank anymore, I don't have to. He knows he messed up. He will stay in his crate until I call him and tell him I am over it. He gives me a little kiss and that is it.
The biting thing I solved in a few seconds. The first time Lick bit me, I gently pushed my finger deeper into his mouth so it was uncomfortable for him. He tried to pull away, but I kept my finger in his mouth for a couple seconds. After that, no more biting. Worked for my Maltese also. I will probably get all kinds of grief from the more vocal and outspoken members, but hey, it worked. Just a note, I wouldn't try this with an adult dog as they have a much stronger bite. |
