I have wanted one for over 20 years before getting one. I waited until my kids were grwon. We always had large to medium size dogs (GSD, Golden Ret., Cockers, Shelties )and got my first toy breed (maltese) almost 4 years ago. I really couldn't decide between a maltese or a yorkie and was talked out of the yorkie by my sister-in-law. Got the maltese and still wasn't satisfied. Decided..why not one of each. I have been a dog owner for 40 years, got my first puppy (a cocker) for a birthday present as a child. Can't ever imagine not having dogs in my life... I think I like em better than people. LOL
