Default Yorkshire Terrier Introduction

The Yorkshire Terrier breed originated in England. This breed, like many other terrier breeds, originated in the Highlands of Scotland.

Yorkie Characteristics
Independent with strong character
A very adaptable breed, though sometimes stubborn. Yorkshire terriers are very intelligent and can be taught many tricks and commands. It has great spirit and courage, despite it's small size.

Tireless, full of energy
Yorkies are tireless and always want your attention. They love to play and will try to get your attention when they are in their play mode. They can be trained to run 6 miles at a time or more.

Good family dog
Yorkshire terriers are very alert and also very loyal. Yorkies will defend their territory and their owner's territory fearlessly. They are incredibly smart and can be potty-trained, though that does take some time. Yorkies love to play and can also be a good lap dog. They tend to be very curious and always will want to know what is going on. They love going with their owners anywhere the owner takes them..
