Our stud max is trained to go out but he'll mark spots in the house if he can. So we put a diaper on him at all times.
Our girls are house trained .... for the most part. Sometimes they have an accident but its rather rare.
Most of our puppies are wee pad trained. We train them almost as soon as they start to go on their own. It helps their new owners in that they are about 90 percent house trained. In fact Brydei is now two years old and she will still use the wee pad 99 percent of the time (if she needs to go and we aren't home to put her out).
Sorry to hear your husband is standing firm. I am "the husband" but I love my babies and wouldn't give them up for anything. I have to admit, I wasn't thrilled that Samantha would go in the house when we first got her but she has gotten better. As everyone else has said, Yorkies can be very difficult to house train. Good luck getting another in the future. I could only imagine how difficult it would be to give one of my babies up.
