When Schatzie was younger it was somewhat of a battle too. Id have her on the bathroom counter and would say a million prayers for her to hold still. Then I started giving her her toothbrush with paste on it to occupy her why I "practiced" on her top knot bows.
Well, that worked but as time went on I do the same above with brushing out her body but I now move to sitting on my steps to the entry of the garage. She lies down on my lap while I talk sweet nothings in her ear and I do her top knot. It still takes me awhile but she is atleast laying down and it's much more enjoyable for the both of us. We do this each and everyday and she is very much used to this daily routine. Infact, she knows when Im getting ready in the am and just about done she barks as she knows "it's her turn" to get ready. Consistency is the key I think...Schatzie has just learned that this is her routine.
