Well you probaly need to get past the color thing and just find a healthy puppy as the color of yorkies does change, that is why there are so many colored yorkies in the show ring!! Black coats are a lot of the time soft coated and they do matt easier. Just something to think about.....
and you are right I have a very black girl and she never has produced a soft coat or another black dog, thank goodness. Yorkies will drive you crazy trying to get them perfect......
