There are a lot of reasons for selling the dogs at the auction. Down-sizing is only one. A miller might be ready to retire a bitch and he can sell her while she is pregnant for a good sum. Or a mom with young puppies bring a premium. If a miller has to do a c-section YES,I SAID "DO" as in on the table in the kennel rooms without a vet. I have never been able to find out what is used for anes. but I have wondered if anything is used..the miller will get her preg and sell herat her next heat cycle..they bring puppies to the auction that the broker will not take for some reason-heart murmur, and all other things-broken limbs, hernias and so on. Rarely do they sell to the public..USDA licensed "breeders" are whole salers. I support a rescue org.and they have so much info on these auctions on their site. My mind just will not grasp the horrendous conditions those animals live in..The babies go back to their lives of hell on earth and the pet shops continue making their bucks on pups..
If someone wants to know the rescue site, PM me.. |
