I had it done for Jazzie about 4 or 5 years ago. She had allergies so bad that my regular vet wanted to start her on weekly allergy shots. So I took her to a vet. dermatologist and had the blood test done for allergies. The BEST thing I've done for her.

Here is the results with the top things Jazzie is alergic to:

1. Cat Dander - Yup, dogs can be allergic to cats! Who would have thunk?

2. Dust Mites

3. Seasonal Allergies from pollens and such.

Because of her results, we made a few changes for Jazzie:

CAT DANDER:
We don't take her to my sisters any more (she has 3 cats) for more than a few hours of short visits (I used to spend the night a lot) with Jazzie loaded up on antihisthamine (sp?)

DUST MITES:
Ripped out the carpet through out the house and went with tile.
Got hypo allergenic matress & pillow covers
Wash all bedding both human and Fur Babies weekly in HOT water.

SEASONAL:
And on days with high pollen count or when it's windy, I give her some antihys - however it's spelled.

Switching her food to Natural Balance really, really helped too.

She now only takes the pills occasionally and I have not had to take her to the vet because of allergies since the blood test! No more dermatitus, breakouts and watching her just miserable from itching.
