I worked as a STNA for almost 10 years. And I tell you, the smile a little dog being placed on their laps are beautiful! Their eyes would light up and it is also very good for them mentally. It brings a lot of them back to their younger years. I heard several stories from my wonderful residents over the years after being around peoples animals they brought to the nursing homes to visit. Very heartwarming.
