I would be getting up every two to four hours at the least to check on it.

What is important is what you have to do now though. It doesn't matter what a vet tech says. I would go to a vet immediately and have them set up a feeding schedule.

The tone of this post is a bit strong. It sounds as though she's doing the right thing, she's asking for help here, she's spoken with a vet tech and she has an appointment set up with a vet. Lets try to help her instead of scaring her more than she already is. I got my puppy at just before 6 weeks because of Hurricane Katrina. My breeder wanted to get what puppies out that he could, in case of evacuation. He had to evacuate, so my baby was safer with me. Chuy has NO social problems. He's such a sweet, loving dog that gets along with all the people and other pets in my family, and he has no psych issues. She'll be fine with the right precautions.

Edit: I do agree he needs to be seen before December. Try to get him seen tomorrow, to make sure he's not got any tummy issues, and that he's on the right track with shots.
