Welcome to the club both of you! I hope that your little one is settling in well. She does sound a bit nervous, but that's probably just because she's way out of the element that she has been accustomed to for the past 2 yrs of her life. Most of us got our babies when they were fairly young, so it's easier for them to adjust. You didn't mention why you got an older dog though, was she rescued?

But please don't worry and most of all don't give up hope. She will eventually begin to relax the longer and more time you spend with her. Just be sure to show her lots of love and positive re-inforcement if she makes a mistake. She's probably scared out of her wits, especially since she has never been out in hustle and bustle of the public before.

It's only been a couple of weeks, give her time to adjust and she will come around and you will be the best of friends yet - I promise you!
Good luck!
