Why not go to your local shelter (yes there are small dogs in shelters), and find a small dog that your hubby likes and that likes hubby.
I dont' think any one breed prefers males over females. With my bully girl, even though she has not been around men much (her first yr was spent with me in an apt with 3 other girls, and her last 3 yrs have been spent with just me and mom). we have male visitors about once or twice a month and she goes BANANAS over men. If she is around any of my guy friends she prefers them over me. I don't know why she likes men so much. The other three dogs in my house don't really care one way or another, as long as they have someone to pet them. |
