Wow..as a future vet (I'm in vet school), 6 weeks is way too young to be away from its mommy and littermates. I would like to see any puppy (no matter the size or breed) be with its littermates until 8 weeks and small breed dogs until 10-12 weeks at least. I can't believe a vet would say 6 weeks is okay...they must not be familiar with toy breeds...or they are stuck in the "old mindset" that 6 weeks is the time to go. No way would I bring home a 6 week old yorkie...
