ILP is an 'offshot' of the regular AKC registration that allows owners who think they have purebred dogs that aren't AKC registered to compete in AKC sanctioned sports. The dog must be either spayed/neutered and must look purebred. It allows a dog to compete in:

Agility Trials
Earthdog Trials
Herding Tests and Trials
Hunt Tests
Junior Showmanship
Lure Coursing
Obedience Trials
Rally Trials
Tracking Tests
