I think it sounds like your wife got the dog for herself, and just told you it was for you..
They are a sweet little dog, for the most part..anyway, my hubby feels the same way you do, but, he's good with the dogs..they're always up on his lap while watching t.v. And I know how you feel about the clothes, mine all have sweaters, but, it's only because our power went out two years ago in the winter and it was cold, so, I had to bite the bulllet, so to speak, and buy them one just to help keep them warm(we would also warm the car up and go for car rides..I think he wants you to love him, and that's great..go for it..you can always take the clothes off when the wife isn't home..
