I guess the hunt is on for a new food. I bought her 4 cans of Merrick. I gave her the wing-a-ling this morning and she ate some of it but didn't seem all that impressed. I also bought the cowboy cookout, puppy plate, and the wilderness blend.
I'm thinking about emailing Evangers and requesting samples, I just need to figure out what to say in the email - lol.
I just don't understand what went wrong with the Canidae. She used to just gobble it right up. |
Ah Yes! I soooo feel your pain. Mango loved the Canidae, until one day she suddenly didn't and that was that. Months have passed and her little nose still turns up at it. I tried evertything... thank goodness my amazing feed store allows me to return opened bags of dry kibble that the little darling rejects. Well finally, she and I found one she loved:
Evangers Pheasant and Brown rice dry - the kibble are the smallest I have seen. What's great, is that it is an ALS, just like Canidae.
Sometimes when her appetite is a bit "off", I will mix it with a half tsp. of Merrick's Grammy Pot Pie.... tried the others, this is THE one she likes.
Most feed stores, if they sell the Evangers, will have small packets available as free samples. Give it a try. It's as highly rated as the Canidae, I believe.
My senior, 12+ year old Granny Spanky, on the other hand, would eat just about anything that would fit in her bowl, and then some.

Bless her ancient heart and creaking bones. She is on Canidae Platinum for seniors.
Good luck with the kibble treasure hunt

Lauren
Edit: it's so funny how you call your baby "Poopanut".... Mango has been called "Poopadinks" or "Poopienuts" since her first day home in Feb this year.

But keep that a secret, I would be toooo embarrassed to tell anyone else.
