What kinds of things are you looking to do? Just fix the red eye and crop in order to print some pics? Or are you really in to more scrapbooky type projects, but just a nervous nelly?
If you're really looking for something easy and simple, I think I used to have some programs that were more basic for starting out. I can go see if I can find out what they were.
