At first when Hercules would scoot, I thought it was cute. That was until I read on here that it was a sign of the anal glands needing to be expressed. So at the next vet visit I told him and he did it. I don't want to do it myself, but that's just my personal feeling. It's completely ok to do it yourself, but like said earlier, get your vet to show you how. Good luck.
