Thank you everyone for your replies and concern (This is an awesome forum).
Turns out that 2 days prior to the ear drop incident, he got his distemper shot. The reaction he was getting was from that. I spoke to other dog owners and they said their dog acts the same way about 1 or 2 days after their shot. And I was thinking I messed him up with eardrops
He is now back to his playful normal self (whew!!)
