AKC has begun a new program...AKC reps are now providing instructions and help to Novices. These are being held at a show site and before a dog show begins.
Spay/Nuetered dogs can only participate in Obediance and Agility events.
Reading material is nice...but, it only makes sense when you finally get in the ring and begin participating in the sport.
I would suggest that you order the rules and regulations from AKC. Familiarize yourself with them.
