How do you make a good resume and if you have been fired in the past do you still put those jobs down??? If you employer to be calls your past job that you have been fired to does your previous employer tell them you were fired???

If you are going into a petstore, you want to wear a nice pair of slacks, a nice shirt, and comfortable shoes that don't make a lot of noise when you walk. I know a lot of managers find this annoying. Now if you are going to be working construction, wear khaki pants and a button up shirt and a pair of boots. You will know if you are under/over dressed. Also, nothing revealing. You never know, you may be interviewed by a woman that finds it offensive. Conservative is the best.

A good resume should be one page. If you do a search for resume, there will be some different styles that come up. You need to find one that works best for you and your prior experience. Let me know if you need help, I have a little time that I can point you in the right direction.

As far as past employment... YES! Put it on there! If you dont, they can fire you for falsifying your application. Put that you worked there and let the new employer know that you were let go. If it was seasonal...tell them, it was seasonal work and I was no longer needed. If you were fired for messing up, tell them, I had a few difficulties in the job, but I have learned from my experiences and feel I have moved forward.

Now, YES, they can call your past employers, and the ONLY thing the past employers can LEGALLY tell the person calling is yes she worked for us. Now, do they tell more then they should. You bet. But, it is extremely hard to prove in court. This happened to a dear friend of mine on here, and I was the one calling asking if she had worked there and trying to see if they were doing anything illegal. Well, lets just say, it didn't take a lot of persuading them to get more out.

Just be upfront, honest, and professional. Be smart, well groomed and confident. Things will go your way!
