I don't think they really look all that big. I can understand though that you wouldn't want to waste the drive over there. Ask if it's OK for you to call and talk w/ the vet for a reference (which any breeder should agree too). The vet should have their weights on record. This could actually provide you good info in other areas that you'll need to check into anyway.
