My Abbie had the surgery @ about 8 months. She had only been limping for about 3 weeks. The surgeon ( Dr Hunte, who was great!!!) explained that Abbie's leg would always appear to be shorter. but is not. It is the muscles that is the problem. If you stand behind Abbie you will see that the leg is a bit shorter in appearnace. She had physical therapy with a PT specialist and then we did excercies with her at home. Now about 1 year post surgery she runs, Jumps ( she can jump so far and so high) just like our older yorkie. Be dilligent with the pt and you will see results. It also helps to have a great surgeon!
