Wow, I missed Wid's story. You're an angel for giving him a good home! Sounds like you're doing everything right.

Socialization is all about giving him a lot of opportunities to be around people and dogs. Let adults you trust give him treats or play with him. Try carrying him and passing him off to others and see how he reacts. Try to arrange meetups with other small dogs.

I didn't learn about the importance of socialization until Eddie was 11 months old, which most say is too late. But I put him in a bunch of obedience classes where he got the chance to be around other dogs and other people. He really turned into a social butterfly.

There's your advice. Now post pictures of Widdles!
