A normal heat cycle lasts about three weeks on average. One week coming in, one week in standing heat, and one week going out. I'd keep her away from males for at least a month though just to be sure. Don't worry, the vulva gets HUGE during heat...it ought to start going down after her receptive period. However, it will never return to the size it was as a puppy before she went into heat.
