So, until it got to about the length I wanna toss..I put my finger inside her mouth and tried to get it out and I couldn't. is this normal for other yorkies? i know morgan takes forever to eat one.

back to the point, if you have to reach inside her mouth to try and get it back then you are still leaving it with her for too long. you need to visibly still be able to see it before you take it away. if you can't see it then it is already too short. i hope she pukes it up.
