I agree, Slade's mommy gave some great pointers! I will add on a few that I know of

~Dress for the job. Don't over do it, and def. don't under dress
~Have a good resume, a list of references available if they ask (key point)
~Make sure all resumes, references and copies of letters of reccomendation are all on same paper
~Make sure you fill out ALL spaces on an application. That is the first place they start weeding people out of the application process. If you can't fully complete an application, what else can you not do fully?
~Do not ever put "see resume" in an application block. That constitutes lazyness to a prospective employer.
~Keep all papers in a nice tidy folder or a small breif case like carrier
~Have your own pen
~Have a list of all pertinant information on hand (all past jobs, salaries, phone #'s ect)
~Fill application out and take it back in the same day. Hand it directly to the manager, never some worker. You might be replacing them, and they dont want to give you that chance.

Hmmm that is all I can think of. I had to take a class for getting out of the Navy, and this was part of the info that they put out to us, hope it helps you (this was taught by a HRO manager).
