It's roomy and adorable, I can fit 3.8 lb McKenzie in there w/room for a big fleece blankie, toy or treat and she has lots of space! Also it is thick and "uncrushable" if someone bumps into you at the store  .
My one and only complaint is that it is very heavy even empty, so that's what I was saying about the shoulder strap -- you will love that I'm sure! My arm gets tired carrying it either bent or in my hand, so that's a major plus (wonder if they sell the strap separate for me, LOL).
It has a great roomy pocket on the front for your stuff which is nice also, I think you guys will LOVE it.
