Our 10 year old Shi Tzu has always done that. I think someone gave me a "wolf" explanation once but I don't remember it. Now, he's teaching Coby to do it. If you are worried about the flooring. I would eather put something absorbent under it or use some sort of mat with edging that would "catch" the water. I have found no way to solve the problem. But I'll be watching your thread to see if you do!!
