we've had directv for about 8 years, we've had no problems with them at all, the signal does go out during a storm. We only had on reciever and then they came out with that deal with the 4 room hookup, and we called them and they said they couldn't do that and it was for new members only and we told them we were do to dish network(we weren't gonna), and we had been with them for 8 years, and they came out the next day and installed the 4 rooms for us! Oh, the picture is really good too!
