My yorkie Cody, consistently wakes up between 4 am and 5 am every day to pee and poop. I usually get up at 7:30. I do let him sleep in the bed with me because I'm gone most of the day. I usually wake up when he jumps off the bed and I let him go outside. How can I teach him to hold it? I feel bad taking away his food and water, but I think I may have too.

He knows he is supposed to go outside but if I'm not around to let him out or I don't notice him by the door he will go on the floor. I also keep him in an xpen in my kitchen while I am at work, he will most of the time pee on the pad while I am gone but sometimes he just tears it up. I'm getting really frustrated.

He knows what to do but it seems like he just doesn't want to!

Any suggestions would be appriciated!
