When you search for a new addition, you need to research and buy into the dog itself, the breeder and what they both represent, not buy solely into a piece of paper.
Now I'm not saying that your claims regarding the mixing and dishonesty with the other registries are not correct, because they ARE and I realize those registries provide a nice safe haven for millers and the likes, but saying the non-AKC dogs are all mixes or that they are lesser dogs is a very unfair and incorrect blanket statement. Not ALL breeders are that way. |
I am in no means saying they are all mixes, because they aren't. I will say that alot of them have been found to be mixes. I also do realize that even AKC is not perfect by any means, but you are IMO more likely to be getting a purebred from AKC then any other registery. You will find dishonesty everywhere and a piece of paper is as good as the breeder it comes from only. It is unfortunate that there are so many ways to corrupt and wiggle ways into making something seem better then it is and that is why even AKC has a suspension list. I am not trying to make a blanket statement as you say I am and I'm sorry if it came across like that. I do realize and am speaking in general only!! All breeders are not the same and thats why its best to screen and ask questions before purchasing any dog AKC or not. Honesty is always the best policy, but not always followed by all.
