It helps if you get your puppy from a breeder who starts training them from the beginning. My puppies are paper trained by the time they go to their new homes.
The ones from Pet stores or puppy mills are used to peeing and pooping wherever they are because they are kept in cages and have never had any choice. These dogs will be much harder to train.
