Ditto on the Ky or try sugar. Is the hair at the tip very long? If the hair gets too long, it can get caught and prevent it from going back in. If it was out for very long, then it is probably red and irritated right now and might be sore. Your vet can give you some ointment to put on it to help it heal and help with the soreness.
