And then I went to see a litter of RED toys. OMG.... I fell in love. Had never heard of the red color. I wanted a little girl but this one little boy just stole my heart and picked me so I had to take him home. He (Daxton or Dax, for short) was copper penny red until he was much older..... then he kinda faded to a color that was a little darker than apricot. I guess that's their way of "going gray". His normal weight was around 7 pounds until his later years when he had heart problems. He was on heart medication for his last 3 years or so and did just great with it. We lost him about 3.5 years ago at the age of 15. I tell you he was our world..... our "first-born" before the children. The most loyal, laid-back dog there ever was.

If you get this pup, you won't regret it. The only word of advise I had was to look between the paw pads for any white or silver because that's what I've been told would mean that a black one will turn silver/gray but I see you've already gotten that info. And no... "toy" is not a "bad word". There are three sizes for poodles.... toy, miniature and standard. Dax was a toy, a miniature is maybe around 20 lbs (can't remember exactly) and a standard is really big.
Good luck!

Just so everyone understands, Poodles are not classified by their weight. It goes by their height. From the AKC Website:

"The Standard Poodle is over 15 inches at the highest point of the shoulders.

The Miniature Poodle is 15 inches or under at the highest point of the shoulders, with a minimum height in excess of 10 inches.

The Toy Poodle is 10 inches or under at the highest point of the shoulders."

Soneal, I am sorry you had a bad night, and hope you get to go see the puppy today! I am anxious for pictures!!
